The following report titled Disney’s Content Strategy is part of a series of reports geared towards profiling the main content providers of Latin America.
The following the report was carried out during July of 2013 and it was organized into two chapters. In the first section a brief description of Disney was provided. In the second section Disney’s content offer on Free-To-Air TV and Pay-TV was described.
The company’s public information and other different sources were used for the analysis.
Disney was one of the biggest media and entertainment groups of the world with revenue of almost USD 42,300 million in 2012. Although Disney had a high diversification of activities, 46% of its revenue came from its offer of channels around the world. Although Latin America only represented 3.1% of the global revenue, it had a strong growth in the last few years. Disney channels in the region had consolidated with the audience giving it a strong local accent to its programming.
