According to Dataxis estimate, the US broadband market grew by 0.7% in the second quarter of 2017, gaining 686000 subscribers. The total number of accesses reached 104 million in June 2017. This progression confirms the trend of continuous and regular growth observed in recent years.

According to the latest research conducted by Dataxis, FTTx will be the strongest growing fixed broadband access in Asia-Pacific, growing at a CAGR of 35% during 2012-2022. China is by far the biggest contributor to this growth, accounting for almost 80% of the FTTx connections out of total FBB numbers in 2016.

The FTTx network in China is mainly built by three operators namely, China Unicom, China Mobile and China Telecom. China Telecom is the market leader with 117 million FTTx subscribers in June 2017. The three companies together provide FTTx connections to almost 80% of fixed Internet subscribers in China.

According to Dataxis latest research for the second quarter of 2017, SVOD subscribers in SAARC countries have reached 2.8 million at a quarter on quarter rate of 89%, compared to 1.5 million in the second quarter of 2016. Among the SAARC countries, India is by far the biggest SVOD market, contributing up to 82% of the subscribers out of the total SAARC numbers.

According to Dataxis, Latin American mobile market reached 689.6 million lines in the second quarter of 2017 and generated revenues of US $ 16 billion, with a monthly ARPU (average revenue per user) of US $ 7.75. The top ten groups accumulated 90.8% of the lines and 85.1% of the revenues.

According to Dataxis forecasts, fixed broadband connections in Latin America will reach 83.7 million in 2022 with a penetration rate of 13.2% over the total population. Moreover, by the end of this year fixed broadband will reach 71 million with a penetration rate of 11.6%.
